TAMARACK / AMISH DINNER:
This morning we travel northward through the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. We visit Tamarack— West Virginia’s premier arts and crafts center. We stop for dinner at the popular Der Dutchman Restaurant. You’ll love the “family style” dining with heaping portions of delectable old-world dishes. Our overnight destination is in the Canton area. (D)

MERRY GO ROUND MUSEUM / CABELA’S / DINNER IN FRANKENMUTH:
Mid-morning brings us to the Lake Erie port of Sandusky, home of the renowned Dentzel carving shop. To celebrate this amazing carousel art, Sandusky established the fine Merry Go Round Museum, which we’ll visit today. Later we stop at Cabela’s. From humble beginnings in 1961 Cabela’s has grown into what we know today as the “World’s Foremost Outfitter.” We continue toward our overnight destination of Frankenmuth. Dinner will be included at one of the area’s many great restaurants. (D)

BRONNER’S CHRISTMAS WORLD / CALL OF THE WILD MUSEUM / DINNER - BIG BUCK STEAKHOUSE / THUNDER BAY RESORT:
This morning we visit Bronner’s Christmas World. It is a must see in this quaint Bavarian-styled town. Here you'll find more than 30,000 trims and gifts for all seasons. This afternoon we visit the Call Of The Wild Museum. This museum displays more than 150 life-like North American game birds and wild animals such as beavers, elk and polar bears in their natural settings, complete with sound effects. We’ll enjoy a hearty dinner at the Big Buck Steakhouse before making our way into the wooded countryside to the Thunder Bay Resort. We spend the next two nights at the resort. (D)

BREAKFAST / OPTIONAL DAY FOR SNOWMOBILING / ELK WATCHING SLEIGH RIDE / DINNER AT ELKHORN LOG CABIN:
This morning we have a leisure breakfast at the resort. There is free time to just enjoy the resort or go snowmobiling on your own. Later this afternoon we board a horse-drawn sleigh for a ride though the snow-blanketed northern woods to view elk, deer and other wildlife (heavy blankets are provided). The sleigh delivers us to the charming “Elkhorn Log Cabin” where a superb 5-course gourmet dinner awaits. What an experience! (B, D)

TRAVERSE CITY / VERY CHERRY LUNCH / GRAND RAPIDS / GERALD R. FORD MUSEUM:
This morning we’ll enjoy an included breakfast at the resort before heading southwest to Traverse City. Traverse City is in the heart of America’s most productive cherry growing region, and lunch today is a special event—”A Very Cherry Lunch” at the Cottage Café. We continue south to Grand Rapids. The Gerald R. Ford Museum chronicles the fascinating story of a man who picked up the mantle of Vice President, and later President of the United States, during one of the darkest political eras of our nation’s history. We overnight in Grand Rapids. (B, L)

RADIO BIBLE CLASS MINISTRIES / KALAMAZOO / AIR ZOO / MENNO-HOF WELCOME CENTER AND MUSEUM / DINNER:
Many of our travelers are familiar with the “Our Daily Bread” devotional booklets, as well as the “Radio Bible Class” broadcasts and “Day of Discovery” television program. We’ll visit Radio Bible Class’ headquarters to learn more about this renowned Christian ministry. Later this morning we stop in Kalamazoo at the world famous Air Zoo. This museum features the world’s finest collection of World War II Warbirds--many in flying condition! This afternoon in Shipshewana, Indiana, a treat awaits you at the Menno-Hof Amish Museum and Welcome Center. Here you'll experience all aspects of Amish life and learn of the history of the Amish people in this interesting museum. We’ll take time to shop in the Amish area. Tonight we enjoy a family style dinner at the Blue Gate Restaurant. (D)

NEIL ARMSTRONG AIR & SPACE MUSEUM / AMERICAN WHISTLE CORPORATION:
Late this morning we stop in the little Ohio town of Wapakoneta to visit the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum. Named in honor of Neil Armstrong, first man to set foot on the moon, this museum chronicles Ohio's contributions to the history of space flight. Among the items on display are a F5D Sky Lancer, the Gemini VIII spacecraft, Apollo 11 artifacts and a moon rock. Ever wonder where all the sports coaches’ and referee’s metal whistles are made? We’ll take you there for a fascinating tour of the American Whistle Corporation —the only manufacturer of metal whistles in the United States.
