FLIGHT TO ROME:
Today we join our fellow
travelers and our Christian Tours Tour Director
as we are transported to the
Charlotte Douglas Airport for our overnight
flight to Rome. Our exciting Italian vacation
has begun!

ROME AT LEISURE | EVENING CITY
LIGHTS TOUR:
This morning upon our arrival
in Rome we are escorted to our hotel. The remainder
of the day is free for you to relax or
explore the Eternal City at your leisure. Of
course you can join your Christian Tours’ tour
director to take in a few of the sights in this
wonderful city. This evening we enjoy a drive
to see the city lights and finish with a stroll
through Piazza Navona featuring the famous
Fountain of the Four Rivers. We overnight the
next two nights in Rome.

ROME SIGHTSEEING | ST. PETER’S
BASILICA | SISTINE CHAPEL | THE COLOSSEUM:
Our morning sightseeing tour includes
Michelangelo’s magnificent depiction
of the Creation on the ceiling of the Sistine
Chapel, as well as St. Peter’s Basilica in the
Vatican. Our visit of the Basilica, built at the
spot where St. Peter is said to have died, will
include Michelangelo’s moving statue of the
“Pietà” as well as the colonnades around St.
Peter’s Square guarded by the gaily attired
Swiss Guards. We cross the River Tiber to
reach Ancient Rome but first pause in Piazza
Venezia where we may take pictures of the
“Wedding Cake” or monument to Victor Emmanuel,
the first king of a unified Italy. We’lll
also see the 15th century Palazzo Venezia as
well as the Campidoglio. Continuing along the
Via Sacra to the Roman Forum and we visit
the breathtaking Colosseum, the most famous
monument of Ancient Rome. Originally
known as Flavian’s Amphitheatre, it was
started by the Emperor Vespasian between
70 and 76 AD and today is still standing! Finally
we see the Roman’s favorite chariot racing
stadium, the Circus Maximus, overlooked
by the Palatine Hill. Afterwards, your time is
your own to further explore this awe-inspiring
city. (B)

UMBRIA | TUSCANY | VENICE:
Today we
travel through scenic Umbria and see the impressive
hilltop towns of Orte and Orvieto before
entering into Tuscany. We make our way
past Chianti vineyards and terraced olive
groves before crossing over the forested
Apennine hills. Later we arrive in one of the
most unique and serene cities in the world,
Venice, our home for the next two nights. Dinner
is included this evening at the hotel. (B, D)

VENICE CANAL CRUISE | MURANO
GLASS-BLOWING:
A visit to the magical city of
Venice would not be complete without a canal
cruise by private motor launch along the
Giudecca and over to St. Mark’s Square, with
views of the Doge’s Palace and the renowned
Bridge of Sighs. We witness a local specialty
demonstration of the ancient art of Murano
glass-blowing in one of the city;s oldest workshops.
The rest of the evening is yours to
enjoy at leisure. There’s time to join the various
optional activities on offer or to explore
the labyrinth of streets and canals. (B)

PISA | LEANING TOWER | FLORENCE:
This morning we cross the Veneto plains
then travel over the steep Apennine Mountains
to the city of Pisa. See the incredible
Leaning Tower and the amazing carved marble
Cathedral and Baptistery in the Square of
Miracles. Later, travel through the province
of Tuscany to the Renaissance city of Florence
for our two-night stay. (B)

FLORENCE SIGHTSEEING | TUSCAN
LUNCH EXPERIENCE:
Today our expert guide
shows us the multi-colored Duomo, Ponte
Vecchio and Piazza Signoria during our
guided walking tour. We’ll enjoy a panoramic
view over the city from Piazzale Michelangelo
before free time to shop for high-quality
leather and gold. Today we enjoy a Tuscan
lunch experience made with locally sourced
fresh produce. (B, L)

SIENA | ROME:
Today we’ll drive through
the Chianti vineyards to the medieval city of
Siena. Here our tour includes the Piazza del
Campo, scene of the annual Palio horse
races. We will have time to shop for Tuscan
specialties before returning to the Eternal
City of Rome. This evening we enjoy dinner
with our fellow travelers. We overnight in
Rome. (B, D)

DEPART ROME | USA: Say “Arrivederci”
to Rome at the end of this remarkable Italian
Vacation as we are transported to the airport
for our flights back to the USA. (B)
