Early today we board our
comfortable Prevost motorcoach and
head deep into the beautiful Blue Ridge
Mountains. This afternoon we tour the
incredible Tennessee Aquarium, the
largest and most complete freshwater
aquarium in the world. Next door in
the IMAX 3D state-of-the-art theater,
you’ll feel like you’re in the movie, not
just watching it! This evening, relax and
enjoy a delicious dinner. We spend two
nights in Chattanooga. (D)
Day 2
RUBY FALLS • LOOKOUT
MOUNTAIN & INCLINE RAILWAY
• ROCK CITY • SOUTHERN BELLE
RIVERBOAT & DINNER:
Today we’ll
see why Chattanooga has earned the
nickname “Scenic Center of the South.”
Ruby Falls is located in Twin Caves
under the battlefield, 1,120 feet below
the surface. The falls drop 145 feet in
a solid sheet of water. We’ll ride the
world famous Incline Railway to the
top of rugged and beautiful Lookout
Mountain. On a clear day you’ll be
able to see seven states from Lover’s
Leap at Rock City Gardens. We’ll see
Fairyland Caverns and Mother Goose
Village, where millions of years of
geological history have been etched
into these stone formations. Tonight
you may relax as we cruise the
Tennessee River aboard the Southern
Belle and enjoy an included dinner at
the Mayor’s Mansion Inn. (D)
Day 3
FIELDS OF THE WOOD • OCONALUFTEE
VISITOR CENTER • HOME:
Today we
head for home. As we cross the Blue Ridge
Mountains we pause to visit Fields of the
Wood, where the Ten Commandments are
spelled out on the mountainside in 6-foot
letters of huge white stones. We travel
scenic Hwy 74 through the Nantahala National
Forest arriving in Cherokee for a lunch
stop. We visit Oconaluftee Visitor Center
including a gift shop, river trail, and historic
Mountain Farm Museum, showing a glimpse
of early life in the region. We continue our
drive through the mountains en route home.
