ANTEBELLUM TRAIL • FESTIVAL
IN THE PARK • MACON, GA:
This
morning we begin our scenic drive along
Georgia's Antebellum Trail. This 100-mile
trek includes seven historic communities
rich with antebellum architecture, Civil
War history, a deep rooted heritage past
with ancient American Indian culture,
and beautiful scenery. From here, we
travel to the “Cherry Blossom Capital
of the World,” Macon, Georgia. You'll
fall in love with the pink blush of over
300,000 blooming Yoshino cherry trees
as we travel along the Cherry Blossom
Trail. This evening we visit the Festival
in Central City Park featuring exciting
exhibits, spectacular shows and fantastic
fair foods. We overnight in Macon the
next two nights.
Day 2

TOUR • DINNER:
We meet our local guide
this morning to enjoy the tales & colorful
history of this beautiful town, viewing
many of the southern mansions. We'll
view canopies of blooms in the streets
of residential neighborhood, Wesleyan
Woods, with a stop at Flicking Farm
where the trees were propagated and
distributed to residents of Macon
annually. Our tour will visit Macon's St.
Joseph Catholic Church. With its Italian
marble carvings, cross-topped spires,
Bavarian stained glass windows, and
sacred altars, this church has been
compared to European cathedrals for
its beauty. Next, we'll enjoy the festivities
of the Cherry Blossom Festival and the
Mulberry Street Arts & Crafts Festival.
Enjoy hundreds of fine, quality vendors
and craftsmen displaying their artistic
creations and unique works. Lunch is
on our own. Choose from an array of
wonderful locally owned eateries and
sidewalk cafes or grab a bite at the
International Food Fair located inside
the gates of the festival. This afternoon,
we tour Hay House. This is Macon's
premier antebellum home, the “Palace of
the South” featured on A&E's American
Castles. A delicious dinner is included
this evening. (D)

ATLANTA BOTANICAL GARDEN •
HOME:
Today we travel to visit the
Atlanta Botanical Garden. Renowned
plant collections, beautiful displays,
and spectacular floral exhibits make
this garden one not to miss. We arrive
home early evening.
