Day 1
INDIANA:
Today we begin our
fantastic Midwest American Adventure
as we travel through Tennessee
and Kentucky, on our way to Indiana
for our first overnight stay.
Day 2
CHICAGO RIVER CRUISE • NAVY
PIER • DINNER:
This morning we
travel north to Chicago. This afternoon
we embark on a voyage viewing the
downtown Chicago River area. Marvel
at Chicago’s skyscrapers and bridges
as the boat glides smoothly along the
Chicago River. Enjoy free time at the
iconic Navy Pier, which offers food,
entertainment and shopping. We travel
to Wisconsin for dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 3
HOUSE ON THE ROCK •
WISCONSIN DELLS • DINNER:
Mid morning we arrive at the House on
the Rock, a place that defies description.
This architectural wonder, the original
structure of what is now an extraordinary
complex of buildings, rooms, streets
and gardens, is built atop, and into a
60-ft. chimney of rock! We have time to
explore this magnificent wonder before
continuing north to Wisconsin Dells
for our overnight. Enjoy a fun dinner
and good food tonight at Buffalo Phil’s.
The resturant offers American comfort
food, delivered via model train. (D)
Day 4
WISCONSIN DELLS BOAT TOUR •
CRANBERRY TOUR:
There are few
sights in this country as unique and
beautiful as the Wisconsin Dells. This
morning we enjoy our guided tour of
the Dells Scenic Riverway. We marvel at
the towering sandstone cliffs, narrow,
fern-filled canyons, and unique rock
formations. Wisconsin’s #1 fruit crop is
the cranberry. This afternoon we visit
Wetherby Cranberry Company for a
tour of their working cranberry farm.
We see how the cranberries are grown,
sorted and packaged. Dinner is included
before checking into our Minneapolis
area hotel. (D)
Day 5
ST. PAUL SIGHTSEEING TOUR •
MINNESOTA VIKINGS MUSEUM
• MALL OF AMERICA:
This morning
we see the highlights on our tour of
St. Paul. After our city tour, we’ll visit
the Vikings Museum. While here, we
enjoy the interactive exhibits and historic
artifacts that tell the story of the Vikings
and football in Minnesota. This afternoon,
the time is yours to enjoy the Mall
of America. There are over 500-stores in
this premier retail and entertainment
complex. There’s even an indoor amusement
park with 30 remarkable rides!
Day 6
FIELD OF DREAMS • IF YOU BUILD
IT • DINNER:
We leave Minneapolis
and travel south to Dyersville, IA
home of the “Field of Dreams.” We see
the Field of Dreams and enjoy a visit
by one of the legendary Ghost Players,
just like in the movie. Our next stop is
the “If You Build It” exhibit. Here you
can walk through the making of the
movie “Field of Dreams” in Dyersville.
Experience the fun stories and artifacts
from locals who participated in the
making of the movie. We arrive in
Davenport for a two-night stay. Dinner
is included tonight. (D)
Day 7
CINNAMON RIDGE FARM • JOHN
DEERE PAVILION • DEERE-WIMAN
HOUSE • MISSISSIPPI RIVER CRUISE:
This morning we visit Cinnamon Ridge
Farms, ranked first in the nation for
milk production. We learn about their
operation and tour the robotic dairy
to see robots milking cows. The John
Deere Pavilion, is an impressive showcase
celebrating 175 years of vintage
and modern day equipment. Here we
have the opportunity to get behind
the wheel in machine simulators and
see if we can maneuver an operating
excavator or crawler dozer. Next we
tour the Deere-Wiman House, once
belonging to John Deere’s descendants.
This evening we cruise down the Mississippi
River aboard the Celebration Belle
paddle wheeler, enjoying a special
“Captain’s Dinner.” (D)
Day 8
ABRAHAM LINCOLN PRESIDENTIAL
LIBRARY & MUSEUM •
DINNER:
Today we travel to Springfield,
Illinois, a city rich in memories of
Abraham Lincoln, who lived here for
24 years. We visit the Abraham Lincoln
Presidential Library & Museum, a
200,000 square foot complex situated
in downtown Springfield. Here we can
experience the Lincoln story in its
entirety introducing people of all ages
to what has been called “The Great
American Story.” Before we leave
town, we ride by the beautiful Illinois
State House. We spend the night in
Paducah, KY.
Day 9
HOME:
What an incredible tour
this has been! Who would have
thought that the Midwest had so much
to offer, from the natural scenery and
beauty of the Dells, to the metropolitan
wonders of Minneapolis and Chicago.
