Spend Thanksgiving in New York City with Christian Tours! What a way to kick off the holiday season than to be a part of a time honored Thanksgiving tradition, the Macy’s Parade. Early this morning we join the rest of our traveling friends as we begin one of Christian Tours’ most popular holiday trips. As we reach Manhattan Island, we’ll be awed by the spectacle of the lighted skyline as the Empire State Building comes into view. Accommodations await us the next four nights in the Manhattan District.

We hit the streets early for the best views of the world famous Macy’s Parade. The parade route is near our hotel. The parade begins at 9:00 am with incredible floats, TV film and sports personalities, bands, and more helium filled characters than imaginable. The remainder of the afternoon is yours free to explore the area on your own. Our hotel is within walking distance to nearly all the major sights! This evening, we have reserved seats for one of the highlights of the Christmas Season, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the world-famous Rockettes! This dazzling show features a cast of 140 people, complete with glamorous costumes and holiday music.

We get to know this thriving city from inside out this morning with a guided tour of “The Big Apple.” There is so much to see on our tour including the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center, the Lincoln Center Christmas Tree, Central Park, the beautiful windows of such stores as Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale’s, and Macy’s, the new Freedom Tower, Greenwich Village, Chinatown, SOHO, and much more. After our tour, we have a delicious included lunch. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore more of New York. This evening we take our seats for one of the popular Broadway productions! (L)

This morning we take the ferry across the New York Harbor to visit the most recognized symbol of freedom, the Statue of Liberty. We’ll also visit Ellis Island, the former gateway to America for millions of immigrants. Macy’s, Saks, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, and thousands of other shops are waiting! You may even want to take the subway to Chinatown. The rest of the day is free for you to take in the city and do some shopping or enjoy as you please.

What an exciting time we have had in New York City! With an early departure, we arrive home late in the evening.
