Today meet your Christian Tours’ Tour Director as we begin an extraordinary African adventure! We travel to the airport and board our overnight flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. Get ready for an unfor- gettable journey filled with spectacular wildlife, breathtaking scenery, exciting safaris, peaceful river cruises, and some of Africa’s most remarkable destinations.

Welcome to South Africa! Upon arrival in Johannesburg, we clear customs and are transferred to our hotel for the night. After our international flight, the remainder of the day is yours to relax, settle in, and prepare for the incredible adventures ahead.

After breakfast, we meet our local guide and begin discovering Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city. Following lunch together, we visit the fascinating Apartheid Museum, where powerful exhibits tell the story of South Africa’s 20th-century history and its journey from apartheid to democracy. We continue with a panoramic tour of Johannesburg, a city of fascinating contrasts where modern skyscrapers, historic neighborhoods, and diverse cultures come together. Later, we return to our hotel with time to freshen up before enjoying dinner together. (B, L, D)

This morning, we fly from Johannesburg to Kasane, Botswana, where our African safari experience truly begins! Upon arrival, we board a small private boat for a beautiful journey through the waterways leading to our lodge. Keep your eyes open for colorful bird-life, hippos, crocodiles, and other wildlife inhabiting these peaceful wetlands. Our welcoming hosts greet us upon arrival at Kaza Safari Lodge, wonderfully situated amid the African wilderness. Settle in and enjoy dinner as we begin a relaxing four-night stay surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. (B, L, D)

Have your cameras ready! Today brings our first thrilling 4x4 safari through Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s great wildlife destinations and home to more than a quarter of the continent’s elephant population. Travel through the park in search of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, antelope, lions, and other wildlife. After lunch, another adventure awaits as we board a private boat for a safari along the Chobe River, cruising toward the lush wetlands surrounding Sedudu Island. Viewing Africa’s wildlife from the water offers an entirely different perspective and wonderful opportunities for photographs. We return to our lodge for dinner and another peaceful evening. Today offers a wonderful opportunity to experience both the people and natural beauty of this remarkable region. We visit traditional villages on Impalila Island, where we learn about local customs, traditions, and everyday life. After lunch at the lodge, we board our private boat and cruise the legendary Zambezi River, surrounded by beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. Following dinner, gather for a special evening of storytelling as our guide shares some of the traditions and legends of the island. (B, L, D)

We return to spectacular Chobe National Park for another exciting 4x4 safari! No two game drives are ever the same, and today brings another opportunity to spot elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, antelope, and an amazing variety of African bird-life in their natural surroundings. A special traditional African BBQ lunch is included amid the beauty of the wilderness. Later, we return to our lodge where the afternoon is ours to relax, enjoy the inviting pool, and simply appreciate this extraordinary setting. Tonight, we enjoy dinner and our final overnight at the lodge. (B, L, D)

Another memorable day begins with a final private boat safari through the Chobe region. Enjoy lunch along the river before we continue to Kasane Airport and board a private scenic flight over the African savanna. The views from above provide a spectacular perspective of this vast wilderness as we make our way toward Lake Kariba. Upon arrival, we transfer to our intimate 16-passenger ship, settle into our cabins, and begin our four-night cruise experience. Stretching nearly 125 miles long and up to 25 miles wide, Lake Kariba is surrounded by flooded valleys, forested hills, and beautiful wilderness. Tonight, enjoy dinner aboard as our African cruise adventure begins. (B, L, D)

Wake to the beauty of Africa before setting out on a 4x4 safari through Matusadona National Park. This spectacular wilderness is home to elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, abundant bird-life, and, with a little luck, one of Africa’s magnificent big cats! We return to the ship for lunch while cruising beautiful Lake Kariba. Later, we board a private boat to explore the lake’s quiet coves and shoreline, where elephants and other wildlife often gather near the water. Dinner and overnight are aboard our ship. (B, L, D)

Our African adventure continues as we explore the winding waterways and hidden coves of Matusadona National Park by private boat. After lunch aboard our ship, we head back into the wilderness for another exciting 4x4 safari in search of lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and other native wildlife. Tonight brings a completely different African experience. After dinner, step onto the sun deck and look toward the heavens for an unfor- gettable stargazing experience. With virtually no light pollution, the African night sky is truly spectacular. (B, L, D)

Today, we enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Lake Kariba with one final boat excursion. The haunting silhouettes of submerged trees rising from the water create one of the lake’s most distinctive and unforgettable landscapes. We return to the ship for lunch as we continue cruising. Later, learn more about Lake Kariba’s fascinating history and unique ecosystem before relaxing on the sun deck. Take in the scenery and watch as the African sunsets across the water—a beautiful ending to our final evening aboard. (B, L, D)

What a day we have ahead! We begin with a sunrise cruise toward Kariba before saying goodbye to our ship. En route to the airport, we stop for a view of the impressive Kariba Dam before boarding our private charter flight to Victoria Falls. Upon arrival, we enjoy a relaxing lunch cruise along the upper Zambezi River. This afternoon, experience one of the great natural wonders of the world as our guide leads us on a walk at magnificent Victoria Falls, where the mighty Zambezi River plunges more than 350 feet into the gorge below, creating the world’s largest curtain of falling water. Tonight, we celebrate our African adventure with the famous Boma Dinner & Drum Show, featuring a delicious buffet, traditional dancing, entertainment, and interactive drumming. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and take in the final sights and sounds of Africa. For those looking for one last unforgettable adventure, an optional early-morning helicopter flight over Victoria Falls is available. See the mighty falls and winding Zambezi River from above for a breathtaking perspective of this natural wonder. (Optional Helicopter Flight: $245 per person.)
